A raid on a Wheelersburg gift shop ends in the arrest of one woman and the seizure of 5,000 packages of suspected drugs.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says officers searched the Dark Wings Novelties Gift Shop yesterday afternoon. Sheriff's detectives and police from the Portsmouth Department found more than 400 prescription pills, 5,000 packages of synthetic marijuana and bath salts and $34,000 in cash. The prescription drugs included Oxycodone, Xanax and Klonopin.

The shop's owner, Yvonda Nichols, 54, of Greenup, Kentucky, faces a felony charge of possession of drugs. Nichols was arraigned this morning in Portsmouth Municipal Court and bond was set at $50,000.

Donini says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be made.  Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Narcotics Unit at 740-351-1094.
