WV Board of Education Awards Innovation Grants

The state Board of Education awarded the funding Thursday to projects in counties including Cabell, Putnam, and Wood counties.
Adopted in 2009, the state's innovation zone program frees selected schools from some of the rules governing curriculum, scheduling and staffing.
Applications were judged on creativity and innovation; staff commitment; parental and community support; sustainability, and the potential for success.
