Logan City Council Rejects Waste Management Plan
< < Back to logan-city-council-rejects-waste-management-planLogan City Council has vetoed a new management plan for the Athens Hocking Joint Solid Waste District.
The four to three vote was last night and it's a repeat performance.
Logan City Council rejected previous proposals which, like this latest one, were supported by other government entities in the two county district.
The waste plan was for operations of the district for the next 5 years.
Perhaps the most controversial provision was a $3 fee which officials said is needed by the district to pay for state requirements.
The district has not been doing enough recycling.
It's now expected the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will prepare a new plan and force the district to comply.
