SEOEMS Bills Prompt County Lawsuit

The three counties jointly operated Southeast Ohio Emeregency Medical Service until it was dissolved in 2010.
The bills are left over from then.
Athens County Commissioner Lenny Eliason says Athens and Jackson paid off their shares but Lawrence did not and Athens and Jackson are being held responsible for what's owed.
He was not able to say what that amount is but did say most or all of it is due to the state.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn says a writ of mandamus was filed today in the Fourth District Court of Appeals. He says it asks that Lawrence County pay more than $50,000.
