< < Back to trio-plead-not-guilty-robbery-chargesAn Athens man and woman are under house arrest after allegedly providing false information to law enforcement.
John Hawk Jr., 23, and Misty Worstell, 29, both of Athens, appeared before Judge Alan Goldsberry Wednesday.
20-year-old Michael Edwards, of Athens, also appeared before Judge Goldsberry on charges related to the same crime.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn says Edwards took Hawk to a home to rob the resident.
Blackburn says as Hawk was leaving, the victim shot him out of fear of being shot himself.
Edwards then drove Hawk to the hospital.
Blackburn says Worstell and another female involved served as a distraction to the victim so Hawk could break in.
Hawk, Edwards and Worstell pleaded not guilty to burglary charges.
Hawk and Worstell pleaded not guilty to obstruction of justice charges.
Hawk also pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated burglary.
Jury trial is set for August 28.
