A Vienna man faces a charge of attempted murder after police say he stabbed an officer.

Police Sergeant Scott Hughes says Officer Jeremy Bradley responded to a domestic disturbance call late Saturday night.

Hughes says 38-year-old Donovan McClung answered the door, stepped out and stuck a knife in Bradley's stomach.

Bradley was wearing a bullet proof vest at the time.

McClung refused to come out of the 14th Street residence, forcing a standoff with police.

He was eventually arrested and is being held on $350,000 bond.

The officer was not injured.
