Grand Jury To Consider Fatal Police Shooting Case
< < Back to grand-jury-consider-fatal-police-shooting-caseA grand jury will consider the findings of an investigation of a fatal police shooting in Wood County.
Prosecutor Jason Wharton says that the grand jury will decide what the next step will be.
Wharton says he'll present a report on the investigation to the grand jury. But he says he can't say release the date.
Three Wood County deputies shot 32-year-old Jody Wilson of Lubeck on March 18 during a standoff at his parents' home. The sheriff's department has said the deputies fired at Wilson after he shot at officers.
Wharton requested a State Police investigation after an internal investigation by the sheriff's department found that the deputies didn't violate department policies.
