Man Convicted In Guernsey Co. Murder Dies In Prison
< < Back toA Tennessee man, convicted for his part in a homicide in Guernsey County last year, has died in a southwest Ohio prison.
According to a spokesperson for the Lebanon Correctional Institution, 37-year-old James Dunikowski, Jr. was found dead in his cell early Friday morning.
Officials say they suspect Dunikowski killed himself and the State Highway Patrol is investigating the alleged suicide.
Dunikowski was convicted in March of last year regarding the death of Donald Kay at a Seneca Lake Resorts home in January 2011.
Dunikowski, along with his then-girlfriend, were said to have been living with Kay at the time of the murder.
Dunikowski and his girlfriend were arrested in Cleveland, in possession of the victim's car, shortly after the January 29 incident.
He was convicted of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery and was sentenced to 25 years-to-life in prison.
