Senior Cat Rodgers led Ohio to its second victory on Friday night against Morehead State. The Bobcats beat Morehead state on the road 1-0. The winning goal against Morehead State was Rogers' fourth goal of the season and the 10th of her career as a Bobcat.

Ohio’s Veronica Rock started out the game on the right foot. In the 23rd minute, Rock shot on target, putting pressure on Morehead State goalkeeper Elizabeth Floyd to make a save. In the 44th minute with the scoreboard still reading 0-0 and the first half coming to an end, Sasha Haverchak took another shot on goal, to be saved by Floyd once again. The first half concluded in a scoreless tie.

The second half was much the same for the Bobcats. Ohio took five shots but could not find the back of the net until the 88th minute. With just 2:13 remaining in the game Rogers fired the ball to the corner of the net off of a free kick. Lauren Haley assisted on the play. The goal was Rogers’ third in two games, both wins for Ohio.

Junior Mattie Liston recorded her second shutout in as many games and stopped six shots, five in the second half. Ohio was outshot 10-9 on the day, but the difference was Rogers’ late goal to put Ohio ahead.

This was the second consecutive win for Ohio. The Bobcats are now 2-3 and play at home against Niagara on September 7.
