Last week, volunteers planted thousands of American flags in the Statehouse lawn to commemorate the lives lost during the attacks on the World Trade Center, as well as the Pentagon.
The display will remain on the lawn until Sept. 12.
In Columbus, Mayor Michael Coleman planned to host a lunchtime remembrance ceremony with veterans at City Hall to honor those who died in the attacks and the emergency responders.
