Afternoon Accident Claims Chillicothe Woman
< < Back to afternoon-accident-claims-chillicothe-womanOne person is dead and another is hurt after a crash Wednesday afternoon in Chillicothe.
According to investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jeanetta Good, 26, of Chillicothe, was hit when she pulled out onto State Route 104 in front of a northbound car driven by Nicholas Draise, 22, of Kingston.
Authorities say Good failed to yield at a stop sign.
She was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say Draise was flown to Adena Regional Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.
It's too early in the investigation to determine why Good pulled out into oncoming traffic.
A loaded handgun was also found in the vehicle driven by Draise.
Sgt. James Lott of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the vehicle was registered to the man's father so it's unknown whether or not he had a permit for the weapon.
Authorities say they are still trying to determine how fast Draise was going before the cars collided.
