Man Charged In Death Of Parkersburg Child

Parkersburg Police Detectives have arrested Matthew Lamp for his alleged involvement in the death of a three-year-old boy.
A Criminal Complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court alleges that on or about September 29, the victim was left in the care of Lamp.
While in the care of Lamp, the victim received substantial injuries to his body.
He allegedly admitted to intentionally hitting the victim.
Lamp is officially charged with death of a child by a parent, guardian, or custodian.
No charges have been filed against the mother or any other person at this time.
He will be scheduled for an appearance in front of a Circuit Court Judge in the coming days.
Lamp could face 10 to 40 years in prison if convicted on the charge.
