Ohio defeated Missouri State 5-1 in its final home game of the season Saturday. Taylor Brown had a huge impact, scoring four of Ohio’s five goals.

Brown, assisted by Jessica Jue, started the game strong scoring in the fourth minute off a goal deflection by Missouri State goalkeeper Andrea Bain, who finished the day with 13 saves.

Ohio’s intensity persisted as Brown scored another two goals in the 20th and 21st minutes of the game. Assisted off a corner by Laura Mastro, Brown connected and scored from the outside. Less than two minutes later Brown scored yet again on a penalty shot directly in front of the goal.

Missouri State scored its only goal on a corner in the 23rd minute of the game. Reiann Stoute put the ball away assisted by Laura Tavares and Chelsey Medlock.

Mastro, after 6 shots, finally went right in herself scoring unassisted in the 30th minute.

The remainder of the game was characterized by Ohio dominance in possession and a late scoring goal by Brown off of a penalty stroke. This victory brings the Bobcats to a record of 8-6 with their next game at Central Michigan at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.
