Vinton Co. Man Accused In Deputy Attack Changes Plea To Guilty

Richard Puckett, 45, of McArthur pleaded guilty to an five count indictment of aggravated robbery, grand theft of a firearm, assault on a peace officer, grand theft of a motor vehicle and escape.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn said Puckett attempted to disarm a deputy, temporarily escaped from custody and stole the transport vehicle as he was being transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on March 2.
