Ohio was ranked 38th in the first AP Poll of the season Friday. The Bobcats are tied with Georgetown and New Mexico with nine points in the initial poll.

Ohio did not receive a vote in the first USA Today Coaches' Poll of the season, dropping it from the No. 25 spot where it ended last season. 46 other schools received votes in the Coaches' Poll.

The Bobacts return all five starters and several key reserves from a 2011-12 team that won the MAC Championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Ohio opens regular season play Nov. 10 at home vs. Portland.
