Ohio University Improvisational Comedy (OU Improv) and the Campus Involvement Center will present Pudding-Thank-You, a professional improv troupe from Chicago, this Saturday at 9 p.m. in the Baker Center Theater.

The four-man group, who have performed at events and festivals around the country, are also part of Revolver, an improv team which includes Saturday Night Live cast member Vanessa Bayer.

This weekend’s show will be a collaboration with OU Improv, who connected with Pudding-Thank-You a few years ago at the Bellwether Improv Conference at Ohio State University. OU Improv President Jessie Cadle was effusive in her praise for the visiting troupe.

“They were, and still remain, some of the the best improvisers we have ever seen. Our workshops with them for the past three years at OSU have changed the way we perform,” she said.

On campus for over a decade, OU Improv (previously known as Black Sheep Inc.) was part of the Lost Flamingo Company before becoming its own student organization three years ago.

The organization has two comedy troupes–Black Sheep Inc. and Six to Midnight–that perform on Thursdays at 9 p.m. in Baker Center Theater.

Although Saturday’s show is the final performance for the year, Cadle said that OU Improv plans to continue the weekly shows next semester and plans are in the works to bring another professional troupe to campus.

“This show with Pudding-Thank-You is the culminating event of this semester for us, and we could not be more excited to bring the best of professional improv to Ohio University,” she added.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the event is free for students and the general public. For more information, email ohiouniversityimprov@gmail.com.
