Drivers Urged To Be Cautious On Snowy Roads

UPDATE 8:00 A.M. Drivers are urged to use caution Thursday morning after parts of Southeast Ohio received a up to three inches of snow.
In a special weather statement the National Weather Service said snow showers will taper off later in the morning.
The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported eight accidents on Interstate 70 in Licking County as of 7:30 a.m. In Athens County, only a couple minor accidents were reported.
Several school districts are either on a two-hour delay or have cancelled classes.
A handful of Southeast Ohio counties are under a winter weather advisory effective beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting through 3 a.m. Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, Athens, Morgan, Washington, Meigs and Jackson counties are included in the advisory.
Wood and Pleasants counties in West Virginia are also part of the affected area.
Forecasters are predicting snow fall in the region with accumulations between one and two inches.
According to the advisory, periods of snowfall could make traveling difficult and could limit visibility.
Motorists are advised to use caution.
