Deputies Discover Active Meth Lab
< < Back to deputies-discover-active-meth-labDeputies say they found an active meth lab in an apartment in South Point while checking on the well-being of children who lived in the apartment.
Lawrence County Deputies went to the apartment about 6:45 p.m. Thursday after getting a call about a strange odor coming form the apartment in Lawrence Commons.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says when deputies arrived they noticed a strange odor coming from the apartment.
During a search they say they found a "shake-and-bake" meth lab made out of a soda bottle.
“This is a very dangerous and volatile situation as when these ingredients are combined they can be very flammable,” said Lawless
The Sheriff says he expects arrests in the case.
Several agencies were called to the apartment complex to help with the meth cleanup.
