It was no ordinary dance – an event in West Virginia gave people who had never experienced a night at the prom a second chance.

Nearly 200 people attended the "Almost Paradise" prom Friday night at Huntington's Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Co-organizer Angela Clay says along with welcoming disabled people, the free event was a second chance for people who never went to their prom or had bad experiences.

Among those there were Huntington Mayor Steve Williams and his wife, Mary. They attended Huntington High School together, but he never took her to the prom. In fact, she told him she wanted to go with someone else.

Steve Williams said the event was a great way for people to have an experience they thought was long gone.
