Deputies Search For Suspect In Proctorville Bank Robbery

Sheriff Jeff Lawless said a man robbed the U.S. Bank on County Road 107 in Proctorville around 12:25 p.m. Monday and ran away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Lawless said the man tried to cash a check and there were some discrepancies with the check. He said the teller refused to cash it and the suspect demanded the teller give him all the money she had.
Lawless said the suspect kept his hands in his pockets and never showed a weapon.
The suspect is described as a male approximately 5-feet 9-inches tall, with a skinny build, short brown hair, mustache, sunglasses, a ball cap and a dark-colored pullover.
There were three employees in the bank at the time, but no customers.
Deputies have been searching the area around the bank for the suspect.
