Woman Fatally Beaten After Joining Fight
< < Back to woman-fatally-beaten-after-joining-fightA central Ohio police chief says a 21-year-old woman was beaten to death in a neighborhood brawl last month when she jumped in after two teens had already started fighting in the street.
Circleville Police Chief Wayne Gray says that the March 27 melee started after someone reported a break-in at a neighbor's home.
Chief Gray said that's when a 16-year-old girl started fighting with 18-year-old Angel Haines. Haines' stepsister, Brittany Jeffers,21, joined the fight, followed by others, the chief said.
Jeffers died later at a hospital.
Four adults, including Haines, were indicted by a county grand jury Monday on charges of aggravated rioting. Four juveniles also face charges.
No one has been charged yet with Jeffers' death.
The adults will be arraigned Wednesday.
