A Marshall University professor is being recognized as the top researcher in her field.

Officials say Jennifer Mak of the university's kinesiology school recently was named the No. 1 leading contributor to research in the discipline of leisure and recreation for the past 20 years.

The Huntington school says Mak was recognized by the Research Consortium of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Mak has been director of sport management and a professor at Marshall since August 2000.  She has more than 50 publications and book chapters in journals across the world.

Her research focuses on consumer behaviors, sports and marketing management as well as organizational behavior in the sport and leisure industry.
