Pill Mill Owner Gets Prison Time
< < Back toOfficials say the former owner of an Ohio "pill mill" has been sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison.
A federal judge in Cincinnati sentenced Kevin Huff,36, of Portsmouth, in southern Ohio, to 262 months in prison for his role in the illegal distribution of oxycodone and other drugs from a pain clinic he owned in Chillicothe.
Huff pleaded guilty in June 2012 to one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 200,000 oxycodone pills, and one count of money laundering.
He was the owner of a clinic called Primary Health Care until authorities closed it in June 2011.
Prosecutors said the clinic charged people $200 for prescriptions. They said Huff, as the owner, received payments of between $5,000 and $8,000, three times a month.
