A fire truck was stolen and later crashed Friday morning in Ross County.

Chillicothe police and the Ross County Sheriff's Office say the fire truck was stolen from the Harrison Township Fire Department.

The driver later crashed the vehicle around 12 a.m.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Charleston Pike when it traveled off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, and overturned.

The driver was ejected and was later transported to the Ohio State Medical Center.

Alcohol and/or drugs of impairment are suspected.

The Ross County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of the truck.
