Man Sentenced For Role In Pill Ring
< < Back to man-sentenced-role-pill-ringA 35-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a Florida-to-West Virginia pill ring.
The government says Jamie L. Joyner of Deland, Fla., entered a guilty plea in January to conspiring to distribute powerful prescription pain killers in West Virginia. Prosecutors say the illegal cargo was moved from Florida to West Virginia in rental vehicles.
At his sentencing Monday in Wheeling, U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp also sentenced Joyner to three years of supervised release.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of $2,000 in drug receipts.
