< < Back to leaders-discuss-ohios-approved-budgetOhio Gov. John Kasich and Republican legislative leaders are scheduled to gather at the governor's mansion to discuss the newly approved $62 billion, two-year state budget.
Ohio Senate President Keith Faber and House Speaker William Batchelder will join Kasich at the meeting Friday.
The Ohio Legislature on Thursday approved a budget that cuts personal income taxes, revamps the school funding system and adds new abortion restrictions. The Republican governor is expected to sign the measure before the deadline Sunday after exercising his line-item veto power.
Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald also is scheduled to address Ohio's budget with reporters Friday. The Democrat plans to run against Kasich during the 2014 gubernatorial race.
