Hospital Patient Steals Ambulance and Crashes

Police tell media outlets that Raymond Spurlock, 40, is charged with felony grand larceny, leaving the scene of an accident and battery on a police officer.
Police say Spurlock was wearing only a hospital gown when he allegedly took the ambulance and wrecked it on Monday.
Three people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
After wrecking the ambulance, police say Spurlock fled on foot and removed the hospital gown as officers chased him. He is accused of hitting a police officer after he was captured.
Spurlock was being held Tuesday at the Western Regional Jail.
