West Virginia Law Library Closes
< < Back to west-virginia-law-library-closesThousands of books once housed in the state Supreme Court's regional law library in Wheeling have found new homes.
The court decided two years ago to close its regional law libraries because few people were using them.
Ohio County Circuit Court Clerk Brenda Miller says most of the Wheeling library's books have been either sold at a state surplus auction or given away.
Books that no one wanted will be hauled away and eventually recycled into new paper products.
Miller estimates the library contained 75,000 books.
Miller gave an update on the library's closure during a recent Ohio County Commission.
The Supreme Court's main law library in Charleston remains open.
