Armed Bank Robber Still Unidentified
< < Back to armed-bank-robber-still-unidentifiedPolice are still looking for the identity of a man who robbed an Athens bank Monday, but local officials may not be the only ones searching for the suspect.
On Monday afternoon, an armed, white male described as being in his late 30s, to early 40s robbed the Chase Bank on East State Street and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. While police were able to obtain video surveillance of the armed robbery, they have yet to determine his identity.
Chase Bank might not have been his only target. Earlier that morning, the same man may have attempted an armed robbery of a bank office in Marietta.
That attempted robber is said to have left without any money, according to Marietta Police.
The suspect, last seen heading east on East State Street away from town, was seen in Chase Bank surveillance wearing a blue ball cap, sunglasses, a tan shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information on the theft is encouraged to call Athens Police at 740-592-3313.
