Ohio Volleyball dug out a four-set win against Marshall in its second match of the day Friday, 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17.

The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead into the locker room before Marshall took the third set to extend the match. Ohio committed seven errors and lost seven of the last nine points in the third set.

The Bobcats quickly corrected their errors in the fourth set, though, notching 15 kills on a .538 clip with only one error. Ohio won seven of the last nine points in the set to finish off the Herd.

Three different Bobcats had 11 kills in the match. Freshman outside hitter Katie Horton killed 11 balls with four block assists, and sophomore middle blocker Karin Bull had 11 kills with three block assists and a block solo.

Graduate middle blocker Alexis Pinson led the Bobcat offense with 11 kills on 14 attacks with no errors (.786), and added six block assists on defense.

Sophomore setter Abby Gilleland threw in four kills with 40 assists and eight digs.

Ohio held control for the majority of the first two games. The Bobcats used a 6-2 run to take an 18-14 advantage in the opening game, but Marshall pulled within 2 on a service ace to make the score 19-21. Horton silenced the Thundering Herd, though, with a kill on the ensuing point and combined with Pinson for a block on the point after. Libero Meredith Ashy scored a service ace on the next point, and Horton followed with a kill to close out the set.

The Bobcats never trailed in the second set, but their lead was never larger than 4 points until a block by Bull and senior outside hitter Liis Kullerkann on the final point before intermission. Ohio won four of the last five points in the second set.

Ohio (10-1) will play the tournament host Michigan Wolverines (8-1) Saturday at 7 p.m. Michigan is ranked No. 10 in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
