Marietta And Muskingum Draw 1-1
< < Back to marietta-and-muskingum-draw-1-1The Marietta Pioneers snapped their four-game losing streak Tuesday as they tied the Muskingum Muskies 1-1.
The game got off to a hot start as both teams scored within the first ten minutes of the game. The Muskies got on the board first when Cody Sprague scored off of Kyle Baker’s assist in the seventh minute. Then, not even two minutes later, Wesley Riley tied the game at 1-1 when he broke away from the Muskingum defenders and buried a shot in the net.
Neither team managed to score after that. However, that did not mean that the goalkeepers were not busy. Marietta keeper Chris Stollar had seven saves, while Muskingum net-minder Will Hess had four saves.
Marietta’s (3-9-1, 0-3-1) next game comes Saturday against Ohio Northern University (11-3, 3-1). Muskingum (5-8-1, 0-3-1) plays John Carroll (11-2, 4-1) on Saturday.
