Damanhoury is originally from Cairo, Egypt. His research interests are in product placement in the media. Sansur is originally from Jerusalem. Her research interests are of the depictions of Palestinians in the media.
Today, they discuss the communications and development cohort in which master's students as well as Ph.D. students in the program join together in research and activism for social change. Topics like the Egyptian revolution and whether or not social media really has been effective as Western media has implied are met with an engaged participation and an enlightened point-of-view.
