Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly told WBNS in Columbus that the super-drug Krokodil has made its way to southeastern Ohio.

Kelly told 10TV that a local heroin dealer told detectives that she believed she had mistakenly bought the heroin-like drug in Columbus. She thought she was buying heroin, according to the report.

The user's skin turned scaly in the injection area, according to authorities cited in 10TV's report.

The sheriff expressed that drug users who are in possession of Krokodil will not be charged if they turn the drug over to authorities.

WOUB will have updates on the story as it continues to develop.
