An Athens County man caused some tense moments for residents of Scatter Ridge Road Monday morning.
Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly said that deputies were called to two separate residences shortly after 4:00 AM reporting someone was trying to break into their homes.
The first call came from a resident who said the man was able to force the front door open but was stopped when a couch was moved against it.
Before law enforcement was able to get to that address a second call was made that a man was attempting to break into another home.
When Deputy Alan Sullivan arrived at that location he found the Robert W. Kyle, 43, of Sharpsburg on the back porch.
Kelly said at one point Kyle became combative and verbally agressive.
Three deputies were able to place the man into handcuffs.
The homeowner placed a blanket onto Kyle who complained of being cold.
Kyle was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital for treatment.
