Deadline for Signing up for Obamacare Extended to Christmas Eve.
< < Back toThe federal government has extended by one day the deadline to sign up through the federal healthcare exchange to get coverage by January First.
That deadline had been Monday but now has been extended until tomorrow as heavy traffic on the heretofore troubled website threw waiting enrollees into an electronic holding pattern – or queue – until the numbers eased.
That system was deployed by programmers fixing the system to deal with traffic volumes of 50,000 simultaneous users.
Those drumming their fingers while on the site can sign up to be emailed when the traffic eases.
The website for signing up is heathcare.gov.
