< < Back to athens-law-director-announces-common-pleas-candidacyAthens City Law Director Pat Lang announced Tuesday in a speech that he is running for Athens County Common Pleas Judge.
Lang asked for the community's support at a reception at the Pigskin Bar & Grill in Athens, where he said that the values that he would bring to the position are those of any good judge.
"If given the chance to serve, I'll bring those values to the bench every single day," Lang said. "Competence. Community. Compassion. That's why I'm running for Judge, and I ask for your support."
Lang would be filling the position left by L. Alan Goldsberry, who will retire at the end of his current term, which ends in February 2015.
Bill Biddleston, former Athens County Prosecuting Attorney, and Todd Grace, the county juvenile and probate magistrate, are also vying for the position.
Lang has served as Law Director of Athens since his election in 2007.
