Gallia Academy Football Coach Wade Bartholomew Resigns
< < Back to gallia-academy-football-coach-wade-bartholomew-resignsIt’s one and done for Gallia Academy head coach Wade Bartholomew.
Gallia Academy athletic director Brent Simms confirmed that Bartholomew notified him Tuesday morning of his intention to resign as the Blue Devil’s head football coach after one season.
A formal resignation should be announced within the coming days and will thereafter be considered by the Gallipolis City Schools Board of Education.
It is expected that Bartholomew will fill the head-coaching vacancy at Bloom Carroll High School.
Bartholomew, who coached at Huntington Ross before accepting the vacant Gallia Academy job last spring, posted a 5-15 record during two seasons as the Huntsmen head ball coach. Bartholomew took over for Mike Eddy who left Gallipolis for Parkersburg South after winning an SEOAL championship in 2012.
Eddy’s successor posted a 5-5 overall record and finished 1-3 in the SEOAL during the 2013 season.
Should Bartholomew takeover at Bloom Carroll, he will take the place of Phil Mauro, who resigned from his head coach position in December. The Bloom Carroll Bulldogs finished 6-4 in 2013 under Mauro. Bartholomew will serve as the sixth coach in the past nine years for the Bulldogs.
A year later, Gallia Academy is left in the same situation as the head-coaching carousel continues.
