Hocking College Student Found Guilty Of False Assault Claim
< < Back to hocking-college-student-found-guilty-false-assault-claimA Hocking College student that claimed she had been assaulted on campus was found guilty in the Athens Municipal Court of misdemeanor charges of making false claims about the alleged incident.
The Athens Messenger reports 19-year-old Sara Enix pleaded no contest last week to charges of making false alarm and inducing panic for which she was found guilty, according to court record.
Enix called Hocking College Police last week alleging that she had been assaulted the night before in a parking lot.
Surveillance videos revealed the holes in her story and Enix changed her story when interviewed by officers.
Enix's initial sentence of 30 days in jail has been suspended on condition she remains a law-abiding citizen for one year.
Police believe this case is related to an ongoing investigation of another assault reported near the Hocking College campus.
