Report: Gahanna Man Who Died In Athens Did Not Die From Falling Down Stairs
< < Back to report-gahanna-man-who-died-athens-did-not-die-falling-down-stairsA Gahanna man who died early in the morning on Feb. 23 did not die of a fall down a flight of stairs, as was originally thought.
WCMH in Columbus is reporting that the Athens County Coroner doesn't know what killed William Patrick Thomas this past Sunday in Athens, but he knows that it wasn't from falling down the stairs at The Over Hang, a restaurant on North Court Street in uptown Athens.
From the report:
Dr. Harold Thompson says Thomas did not die as a result of the fall, but could not rule on the exact cause of death. Thompson is waiting for toxicology reports to see what was in Thomas’ system at the time of his death, which could take several weeks.
Thomas was found at the bottom of a stairway early Sunday. He was bleeding from his head and was in cardiac arrest when he was found. He later died at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. No foul play was immediately suspected.
