Jolie Holland Returns to Stuart’s Opera House July 19
< < Back to jolie-holland-returns-stuarts-opera-house-july-19Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville will welcome back acclaimed singer-songwriter Jolie Holland and her band this Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m.
A founding member of The Be Good Tanyas, Holland has been recording solo material since the early 2000s, with notable musicians such as Mark Ribot and M. Ward guesting on her albums.
While fans and critics can’t seem to come to a consensus on what type of musician she is–her music has been labeled as blues, folk, jazz, soul, country and rock–most seem to agree that she is unique (“A kooky old-time singer, with a new age twist, but never less than a true original,” according to www.postbulletin.com’s Ryan Stotts).
Holland and her band are currently touring in support of her new album, Wine Dark Sea, which has been receiving positive reviews.
Neo-psychedelic Brooklyn band Shy Hunters will open Saturday’s show. For tickets and information, visit www.stuartsoperahouse.org.
