Game Preview: Warren Looking To Rebound Against Parkersburg South On Friday
< < Back to game-preview-warren-looking-rebound-against-parkersburg-south-fridayThe Warren Warriors and the Parkersburg South Patriots have followed similar narratives during the opening stages of the 2014 season. Warren managed to win just three games in 2013 and Parkersburg South just two, but both teams already look to be on the path to improvement this season.
Parkersburg South and Warren are familiar opponents, facing each other in five of the last seven seasons. Although Warren has won four of those matchups, the average margin of victory over the last five contests was just 4.4 points per game.
The Patriots enter with experience in close games as all three of their games this season have been decided by fewer than 10 points, including a nine-point win over Morgantown in Week 3. Meanwhile, the Warriors are coming off of a 69-6 loss to Athens, but used second-half pushes in their first two games to stay competitive.
“I have pointed out to them that we’ve been a second-half team,” Warren head coach Anthony Fish said. “We played well in the second half against Parkersburg and played well in the second half against Marietta. We’re looking at that being one of our strengths.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Parkersburg.
