New McConnell Ad Highlights Kidnapping Case
< < Back to new-mcconnell-ad-highlights-kidnapping-caseA Kentucky woman recounts how Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell helped rescue her abducted daughter in a new statewide TV ad that began airing Monday.
The woman from Morehead said in the 60-second ad that her ex-husband took their daughter in 2011 to the West African county of Mali.
The woman said McConnell worked with the state department and the Mali government to ensure Muna's safe return. She said McConnell cared about her and her children when others did not.
It was a rare positive ad in a race that has so far been dominated by negative advertising.
Alison Lundergan Grimes, McConnell's Democratic challenger, also stayed positive on Monday by unveiling her #AlisonCares social media campaign. It featured a web video of her husband, Andrew, talking about Grimes' passion for Kentucky.
