Trimble Lights Up Scoreboard Early, Beats Alexander [VIDEO]
< < Back toAfter a Justice Jenkins touchdown with 9:20 remaining in the first, Trimble never looked back.
15 first quarter points lifted the Trimble Tomcats (8-0, 7-0) past TVC-Ohio foe Alexander (5-4, 3-2).
Had quarterback Andrew Losey not overthrown Jenkins on three sepearte occasions, the first quart could have been ever more lopsided.
Nevertheless, Jenkins overcame those three missed opportunities and finished with two touchdowns of his own in the first half and one touchdown in the second.
On the other side of the ball, Alexander quarterback Brody McGrath struggled agains the tenacious Trimble defense, throwing interceptions to Cody Jones on two separate occasions. Four flags in the second quarter did not help Alexander’s offense either.
There was a scary moment when Austin Downs went down halfway through the first quarter with an injury, but Downs persevered and made some big plays for on defense, in addition to a touchdown on offense.
Losey’s performance improved in the second half as he ended the night with 220 passing yards, throwing over 140 of those in the second half.
Trimble will look to finish its perfect season into week 10 against Federal Hocking and Alexander will go for win No. 6 against Meigs.
