“It’s A Wonderful Life” Opens Dec. 3 At OU-Lancaster
< < Back toThe holiday season is getting into full swing at Ohio University Lancaster.
That’s because It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play officially opens on Wednesday, Dec. 3. This is the third year OUL Theatre has done the show.
“It was such as success in past years with people saying immediately afterwards that they loved it,” said Theatre Director Victor Jones. “That’s why I wanted to do it again.”
The play is inspired by the classic Frank Capra film, It’s a Wonderful Life. This family friendly version is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast.
“There’s some special effects that happen during the last five minutes of the show…people generally stop watching the actors on stage because it is so beautiful,” said Jones. “The children really love that part.”
Holiday pre-show performances will be held Dec. 4-5 at 7 p.m. The show runs through Sunday, Dec. 7.
Opening night tickets are specially priced at $5. For more information, visit https://commerce.cashnet.com/oul-theatre
“We’re going to do a holiday show every year,” said Jones. “And this show just helps set the holiday mood and get you in the mood.”
