State Route 13 has been closed in Glouster after a grenade was found near a local park.
Glouster Village Police and Fire Department have created a radius around the area where the grenade was found, in a resident’s yard near the village’s Municipal Park, according to Mayor Miles Wolf.
“An area resident found a grenade while digging in his yard,” Wolf wrote in a text message to media. “An officer was at the park and the gentleman found the officer and gave him the grenade.”
Police and fire crews are on standy awaiting a response team from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to “take control of the device,” Wolf said.
Wolf said there are no suspects in the discovery because no crime has been identified, Wolf said.
