COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Heavy rains are again bringing flooding to some low-lying areas across Ohio.

Several areas of the state in western and northwestern Ohio were starting to dry out after a long week of rain and high-water.
In Athens, flooding closed a portion of Richland Ave., which is currently undergoing major renovations, for a period of time on Saturday. Athens Deputy Service Safety Director Ron Lucas said crews worked overnight to replace work washed away or damaged by flooding.
Logan County’s Emergency Management Agency director says floodwaters are beginning to recede and that damage assessment teams spent Saturday looking at flooded garages and basements and a lot of debris left behind.
County officials there declared a state of emergency on Friday.
