Sinclair Community College held the dedication Monday for its $5 million National Unmanned Aerial Systems Training and Certification Center. The Dayton Daily News reports that the center will provide students with access to 3-D advanced manufacturing, drone simulators, a wind tunnel and improved labs. Sinclair officials say it will give graduates an edge in the job market.
Regional leaders say the renovated 28,000-square foot building will have around 120 drones on-site. The state provided about $4 million for the renovations. The college picked up the remaining $1 million.
A study says the industry would create 2,700 jobs and have a $2.1 billion impact in Ohio by 2025.
