OHSAA Reveals Computer Ratings Ahead of Week Eight

The Ohio High School Athletic Association revealed its latest computer ratings Tuesday afternoon and several teams from within our coverage area are ranked within their respective divisions and regions.

Division II, region 5 

After falling to Jackson, Logan (6-1) dropped from second to sixth with a 13.4643 rating. Joining the Chieftains are the Tri-Valley Scotties (6-1), who fell one spot to ninth with a 10.4929 rating, despite their shutout win over John Glenn.

Division III, region 9

Speaking of Jackson (6-1), its win propelled itself to a 14.5786 rating and the top spot in the region after taking second place last week. Sheridan (5-2) also saw a rise after hanging on to beat Philo, landing in eighth with a 8.9714 rating.

Division IV, region 13

Bloom-Carroll (5-2) finds itself in a tie for sixth place with Gnadenhutten Indian Valley after holding sole possession of fifth place last week. Both teams boast 9.7714 ratings. Maysville (6-1) routed Morgan on Friday and maintained its No. 8 spot with a 9.2929 rating.

Division V, region 17

Zane Trace (7-0) keeps on winning, so it remains the top dog in the region with a 15.3714 rating. Two spots behind the Pioneers in third, Alexander (6-1) bumped itself up two spots after a crucial win over River Valley, earning a 12.4571 rating. The Raiders (5-2) loss dropped them two spots to eighth place with their 7.6883 rating. Wellston (4-3) earned a 5.4286 rating, keeping the Golden Rockets in 11th place.

Division VII, region 25

Another win means Trimble (6-1) remains on top with its 10.7 rating. Belpre’s (5-2) pivotal win over Miller bumped the Eagles’ rating to 7.4 and its spot in the standings from seventh to fourth. With the loss, Miller (5-2) now sits in seventh place with its 6.0714 rating. Waterford (3-4) and Southern (3-4) are tied for tenth once again with each earning a 3.95 rating.
