In an busy week, Meigs won all three of its games, leaving the Maruaders with an undefeated record at 5-0.

The Marauders started and finished out their week strong with huge leads over Wellston and Rock Hill.

On Dec. 8 Meigs beat the Wellston Rockets 76-39. Despite the large lead, head coach Ed Fry claimed that the game felt neck and neck the entire time and described the game as “choppy”.

“It was a battle and a very strange game,” Fry explained. “My assistants and I felt like even when we were up 20 or more points, that it still felt like this was a close game.”

Colton Lilly was a leader for the Marauders offensively with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Luke Musser, another key player for Meigs, played on a sprained ankle and still mustered up a total of 15 points.

Lilly continued his offensive fire on Dec. 11 when the Marauders faced the Athens Bulldogs. He had 23 points against the Bulldogs and the Marauders won 72-64. Kaileb Sheets also helped Meigs by scoring a total of 25 points.

Though Meigs came out with the win, Athens surely put up a fight. When the Marauders started to get sloppy in the second half, the Bulldogs’ key player Griffin Lutz worked his offensive magic. Lutz put up a total of 36 points against the Marauders.

The Marauders ended their week by dominating Rock Hill on Dec. 12. Meigs left the game and the week on a high note with a score of 71-39.

The Marauders hope to keep their untouched season going in the coming week as they travel to Jackson on Dec. 15. They also have two more games next week, Dec. 18 at River Valley and Dec. 19 at home against Point.
