Bobcats Set to Take on Falcons Tuesday
< < Back to bobcats-set-to-take-on-falcons-tuesdayTuesday’s matchup between Ohio and Bowling Green features a pair of teams looking to capture their second MAC win.
The Bobcats come into this contest with a 10-4 overall record and 1-1 in MAC play. They are coming off a 79-73 point win over Ball State. In the game, junior forward Antonio Campbell scored a career-high 27-points and hit four 3-pointers. Redshirt sophomore Jaaron Simmons had 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Falcons are 10-5 overall and also 1-1 in MAC play. They are coming off a 79-76 loss to Central Michigan. Spencer Parker led the team with 15 points in that one. Leading scorer Zack Denny was held to five points, but slowing him down is still a point of emphasis for Ohio.
“Zack Denny is as good as it gets. He is just so solid,” Phillips explains. “He plays the right way and does the right thing.”
Bowling Green is more than one player, though, and Ohio understands that.
“They don’t beat themselves, and I don’t see any glaring weakness, and that is their greatest strength.”
Ohio and Bowling Green have shared two common opponents this season, Cleveland State and Florida Gulf Coast. Bowling Green beat the two teams by a combined 20 points while Ohio beat them by 19 combined points.
The Bobcats will put their 9-0 home record on the line Tuesday night against Bowling Green. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
